Assunto:  working off a dead horse

Mensagem:  As inclined to agree with pat as I felt when I first read his post, "dead horse" meaning "advance wages for work" or "an old debt" may have indeed long fallen into disuse. We could liken pressing on this issue to flogging a dead horse. Or to foraging it while patiently waiting for it to open its mouth. And yawn.
