I was listening to the audio file sent by "The real Alexandre" and it got me thinking. For some time now, I've been forcing myself to say "pronunciation" [prənʌnsi'eiʃn] rather than "pronounciation" [prənaʊnsi'eiʃn], but the person who recorded the audio file (who I assume to be a native speaker), fails to make this distinction. Did he mispronounce the word? Is it acceptable to pronounce the word the way he did? Thanks everyone. |
