Borrowing Dale´s words.
A dupla negativa nao existe no ingles certo, mas existe em outros idiomas. I didn't see anyone/I saw nobody = Nao vi ninguem. I didn't say anything/I said nothing = Nao disse nada.
Esta perguntando se tem que seguir as regras gramaticais do ingles ao escrever em portugues? Claro que nao.
So, you got confused here, I didn´t say that you can´t have double negative in Portuguese, as Dale put it in categorizing "other idioms", there are in Portuguese.
Yet, in English there isn´t, unless to the effect of "emphasizing" like in musics or day to day basis, for instance: there are people that put such expressions on your blogs.
What I mean is, you will always sentences in English to translate into Portuguese, in it never will find double negatives in English, but into translating you put double negative IN PORTUGUESE (because we use it, okay? nothing wrong with double negative in Portuguese).
