A partir da década de 1990 do século passado, com a crescente competitividade *entre as organizações.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

My two cents, here we go:

From the *nineties, with the increasing competitiveness among *organizations......

*1-) It is implicit that 1990 is in the past century.

*2-) Between if you talk about two organizations, by the context I grasp that is more than two.  So, you must use among. Unless you really meant two, for instance, if you are telling the history of only two organizations/corporations.

And if you are refering to ORGANIZATIONS in a broad sense, without quoting none in particular, mustn´t use THE before it.

*-3) corporations you mean? because organizations is a more generic wording, though not wrong, don´t you think?
