The original sylables come from a latin poem:

Ut queant laxis -- yes Ut was the original Do
Resonare fibris
Mira gestorum
Famuli tuorum
Solve polluti
Labii reatum
Sancte Joannes -- Ti was invented yet.
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

P.S. Once I borrowed the answer for a thread from the Forum www.wordreference.com     I really don´t know for sure the latter, but I think I have seen it before (I mean the Latin Poem); any musician to corroborate? please come in and clarify it.

I hope this helps.
