Hello. I can think of no easier way other than letting it "sink in." Do your students feel preposition-challenged, do they feel article-prejudiced? Have they conducted extensive research and have they practiced enough?
You should not sell your soul over your students' absurd grammar demands. Rather, tell them to check their grammar on a regular basis, check the dictionary etc. If not, how did you yourself learn your preposition lessons, how did you learn to tell an at from an in and an inn from a gnat?
