Assunto:  Need someone so badly

   I think that "Had you ever needed someone so badly" would be the educated way to put it, but musicians twist the English language, you know.  So, the sense got that awkward, at least for me.  

   I would think the same thing "precisar de alguém tão mau assim', if I didn´t have had so many times this structure "...so badly"; as in "I badly needed to marry her." "I needed money so badly to pay my bills" and others like that.   Yes, it is a intensifier.
