Assunto:  To the highly or surprisingly underpaid

   To other countries eyes, I am going to explain this aspect of Brazilian culture.

   Teachers and other professions and jobs are paid based solely on status, in this way

they are 'non-merit' jobs (as if they didn´t deserved being paid).

    Here, in RN for example, teachers and policemen at a certain time ago were paid three months later (an outrageous thing!).  

   On top of this, teachers, garbage colectors and others workers don´t have promotions.   Thus, they start with a given salary and for years they earn the same.

   Still, as far as I know; when they ail (except the police), they go to state hospitals (imagine the treatment they get...).
