For years on end, seldom did the traditionally used latex rubber tubing find a substitute in the hands of lab assistants. Now and then I will drive my 93-year-old ailing father in for bloodwork (to say the truth, twice a week) and sometimes I watch them wrapping the old latex tubing around his upper arm and needling him.
