- Do we pronounce the first letter "l" in available ?
I would say yes, but a lot of sounds are compressed and skipped in the spoken language – the written and spoken versions of English are really two separate languages because of the gulf between transcription and pronunciation (evidently this leads to a higher rate of dyslexia amongst native English speakers).
I think the two accented / stressed syllables of the word are: IZ & AT
The other three vowels are all rendered as schwas (i.e. unaccented)
I suppose the IZ is the primary stress, the AT the secondary
