Naturally they all come from "vulgar Latin" (the one the rabble spoke at the time, that´s why they corrupted into that diversity of languages).
As I deemed somewhat useful to explain the fact of Portuguese having some usages that are more accepted in our country.
In fact, even in Portugal such event happens.
There is a city in the border of Portugal, close to Spain, in wich Spanish people come and trade and live. So, they perfectly understand Portuguese and talk Portuguese there. but the Portuguese citizens not even could understand Spanish properly, let alone to speak in it.
The same happens in our southern borders, an Argentinian, Uruguain, Paraguaian feel at easy with Portuguese in no time, the other way...
That explains why Portuguese favor some expressions and why even being of a commom root (vulgar Latin) we can´t say that the usage is the same.
It might have some commom ground, but no one can expect to be the same words and sentences only because they are Latin-related.
