Pondering on wise:

For the common good of all and me being a wise guy, may I point out the term:

streetwise. Likewise, do you all know the word likewise?

a wise guy = a smart ass ( vulgar) = espertalhão

streetwise: (as defined by wikopedia and the likes)

Having the shrewd resourcefulness needed to survive in an urban environment;

Having the necessary knack, personality and instinct for survival in rough, urban environments;

Possessing a style that embodies the life and microculture located within urban settings, typically in the States.

likewise : similarly: in a similar manner; he shaves everyday and she does likewise.

temos aqui dois 'wises'

wise= sabido

wise= maneira, modo

Expression

I am none the wiser = Sei tanto quanto antes.

I hope that herewith you are all the wiser now.
