Prabs, I am not sure what you are trying to tell us.

To my mind all below sentences are fine:

 

"She told him he may have to go on a trip"

"She told me he may have gone on a trip."

'She told him today/yesterday he might not go on the trip'." 

"She told him he might not have to go on a trip'. –

"She told me he might have gone on a trip."
