Yep, J, we agree - all seem ok to me too, furthermore, there was nothing in the post to suggest otherwise.
That is, there wasn't any intention to indicate that there was anything wrong the sentence(s).
There was a misdescription though – that was what was being referred to.
As for what I was trying to say, … mmm… it is generally the case in all fields where questions arise that a description of context and structure may shed some light on the matter being questioned. In the spirit of providing such a description the post was made, in this case about 'might', the class of verbs it belongs to, and the operation of that class within the overall verbal structure.
Of course, people are coming from many perspectives and levels of proficiency so whether the 'aim' is achieved will depend upon a lot of factors both within and outside of the writer's control.
