Mensagem:  At one time or another Deivis (and an unaccountable number of us learners of English) may have attempted to use inversion.

Inversion (aka anastrophe and inverted order) occurs in many forms, Deivis's "Rarely do I eat meat" example clearly illustrating this process.

"Hardly had a day passed in which we did not have some visitor or other from outer space" -- Thanks to author Jane Austen

"Hardly had a year passed without a war" meaning "A war took up where the other left off almost on a yearly basis" <-- Given the circumstances, we'd soon get involved and die.

"Scarcely had the bell rung when the door flew open" -- Thanks to author Agnes S. Turnbull. He gave me the pertinent idea.

Bear in mind, however, that inversion structures do not find their way easily into drugstore conversation (em conversa de esquina ou de botequim). They border on formality, and we cannot or should not go around saying, "Hardly had Márcio Farias written something when a book of his would burn." Or worse.
