   I agree, many lyrics don´t quite follow grammar rules, so, better be safe than sorry.

   I am not talking about Marcio´s answer, but about following music as reference of usage, they may use slangs, impolite or offensive words, spoken and informal English, local brands of language (creolism and other kinds of pidgin English), rules of their own and all that nicely wrapped up in a good tune/rhythm.

   On the other hand, may be relaxing and give an overview of the language in the streets.
