Mensagem:  Isn't that "to leave a lot (much) to be desired"?

Your work leaves a lot to be desired.  It's terrible, certainly not up to your usual standards.  Do it again.

As a soccer player, he left a lot to be desired.  The only goal he ever scored was when he tripped over a ball and somehow it hit the net.
