Esta correto??? Não, o segundo não está.
Let´s see why, then:
Use of present perfect => To express an action or state that began in the past and continues in the present, ex: Hiroaki has lived/I have lived in California for two years.
Nesse caso, "Hiroaki/eu mora/o na California há 2 anos."
Use of simple past =>
1- To indicate that an action or event took place at a specific time in the past, ex: I visited Japan last year.
2- To indicate that an action or event occurred over a period of time in the past with the implication that it is no longer true in the present, ex:
I lived in Los Angeles for 15 years.
(Morei em LA por 15 anos.)
That´s all for the time being. Hoping that it helps.
Ah, not forgetting the source (with slight changes), the book Writting Clearly, An Editing Guide 2nd edition. By Janet Lane/Ellen Lange.
Heinle & Heinle Publishers.
