Mensagem:  That's a tall order!! I think you should read something current to get you into the flow and to learn about customs, geography and history. Then you can tackle the hard stuff like Boewulf. Here are the urls of two sites that list all of the good stuff. One is for English writers: http://www.lang.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~matsuoka/UK-authors.html and the other for American Authors at: http://www.lang.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~matsuoka/AmeLit.html I'd start with something like "The Pit and the Pendulum" by Edgar Allen Poe. Using the internet links that you find through the above cites sites you should be able to find narratives and explanations of what the different authors mean in their works. Students here buy special books to help them understand literature. Go to these sites and see what you find, Tom
