Assunto:  know not - do not know



English language is very interesting because it is very simple before Portuguese Language let me say.


But there are things that I can not figure them out and it may be so simple to understand that it makes me lose my train of thoughts...I might be over the hill(laughing).


So...chatting aside, let's go straight to the point. What's the difference of usage for the clauses below:


If Jesus himself said  "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."...

If Jesus himself said  "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they do."...
