The word "re-run" is usually associated with a program that is shown again at least one season after it was shown the first time. Not always, usually.
It is common to hear an explanation, not a special term. "I'm going to watch the game on Sunday when they show it again." "I'll catch the show when they run it again on Friday night."
Speaking of sports and showing something again, let's say you are watching a soccer game and a team makes a goal. They show that part again immediately, right? It's called "an instant replay".
