In the translation process it is very common to ommit parts of the source text giving place to more universally understandable forms of the target language.
The translator's job is to create a bridge between the source text and the target language readership.
The translator needs to understand the ideas, motives, intentions, expectations of the source text, so that he/she can inform the readers in plain language.
Otherwise things get lost in translation.
