Very good point!!!! Unfortunately, that’s true. I really don’t like this kind of thing. For me Portuguese might lose its beauty with so many English words. The same happened, long time ago, when French was used as business language. Most of computer jargon used in Portuguese came from English. Delete, insert, monitor, mouse, HD (hard drive), software, hardware, site, link, email, download, upload and so on.
I’m sad because in other languages like French, Spanish they have their own words for that. When I was working in Brazil, it was normal to hear things like, “Eu estou down hoje. Eu te dou um feedback. Eu preciso de um up no meu salario.”
Yeah, if you buy a good Portuguese dictionary you probably will find the words that have come into Portuguese.
