Mensagem:  The Halloween in Canada is not very different, but a few other traditions came to my mind.

Some days before Halloween, people carve pumpkins (usually a monster face) and put a candle inside to light the craft. The carved pumpkins are called a jack-o'-lanterns, and are placed outside people's houses to decorate them.

Small kids go trick-or-treating from house to house, and most people keep a supply of candies to give out. Nowadays, however, you can't trust everyone. For this reason, most parents spend some time inspecting the candies their kids were given before letting them eat. This is a part of the tradition I never imagined before experiencing it...

Older kids don't go trick-or-treating. They light firecrackers on the streets, which is forbidden in Canada (firecrackers are dangerous, specially if you don't know how to handle them properly). Thus, running from the cops is part of the tradition for some Canadian kids... This is another aspect of Halloween I didn't know before going to Canada.
