Fran, I’m at the interior of Rio de Janeiro.
I agree with you that Halloween could be a harmless party and its could be very fun for the children. I also think that it could motivated them to learn English but most of parents don’t understand it . I think that it is because I like to learn foreign languages that I appreciate any activity that could help my children to be interested in learning . What I’m trying to make them see is that having a Halloween party doesn’t mean neglecting Brazilian culture nor celebrating devil something . Most of parents against are religious ones and I’d like to have some argument to convince them and the school principal ( she was confused and didn’t take a side )about the cultural meaning of Halloween , even though it had some pagan origin , I don’t think people celebrate anything evil in Halloween .
