Mensagem: | I think pretty much the same thing happens to Brazilians when it comes to distinguishing American from British English... The more familiar with the language you are, the more you can tell the difference between them. Regarding the Brazilian and Portuguese dialects, Brazilians have a much harder time trying to understand Portuguese people, given the fact that the latter are much more used to hearing Brazilian Portuguese than Brazilians are to hearing Portuguese people talk. Portuguese television airs a huge variety of Brazilian shows everyday and many Brazilian performers are also popular in Portugal.. You don't hear much about Portugal here in Brazil unless you have a Portuguese channel on cable. |
