Mensagem: | I don't think it's easier for a non-native to learn Euro-Portuguese. And the reason I am saying this is because I've met some, and they all complain how Euro-Portuguese is much harder to understand than Brazilian one. Regarding the other issue, if we can distiguish the different English accents, I tell you I was in Ireland for a year and they have a lot of different accents, so many that sometimes they even joke about it. They use to say that in Dublin you could figure out the street where a person lives only by his accent!!!! I have to confess these very subtle differences are a bit hard to realize, however the big differences such as American/Irish/British/Scottish are quite easy. The trouble begins when you want to see the differences between different counties. |
