Mensagem:  I don't think it would be any easier for an English speaker to understand Euro-Portuguese based on the fact they are both stress-timed. There are so many other factors of psychological nature that influence the learning of foreign languages that linguistic differences like the rhythm of speech would play just a minor and insignificant role. Besides, syllable-timing is naturally easier than stress-timing for the foreign learner.
