Had a thought.... As I indicated in an earlier post, my phone number is 2244-2555. I don't know of anywhere in the USA where phones have eight digits. Seven, yes. Eight, no. So....how do you give a seven digit phone number? My old number in the States was, I believe, 338-0546. People expect you to say "Three-three-eight, oh-five, four-six." Note that you are giving three numbers, two numbers, and two numbers again. Also note that "zero" is usually given as "oh" (as in the letter "O"). |
