I would like to add a comment. The intonation plays an important role when you’re pronouncing numbers.
For example the number 171, if you pronounce them flat the person on the other end might think that
there’re more numbers to come. 1-7-1-…and hang for while waiting…I’ve noticed that over the years.
You need to raise and fall your intonation in order for the other person realizes that you’re done.
