Sid, I feel "normal" knowing that the "Who is this?" gets on your nerves too. The practice here in Costa Rica has died out. In the 70s it drove me crazy. I told more than one caller, "If you don't know who I am, why did you call?" One guy was my wife's cousin. He called back and identified himself politely, but I learned later a brother-in-law was present, and the shocked cousin had asked those around him, "Who does this Gringo think he is?" LOL In Gramado I had a woman call me about 20 times asking for someone I had never heard of. I really got pissed off. If Carlos wasn't staying in the house an hour ago, he sure as hell did not move in after her last call. This morning I had to argue with a woman that Sonia did not live here and, no, she had not lived her a year ago, A wrong number is a wrong number. |
