Assunto: | Wife-beater...! |

José Roberto, do you mean in addition to the spelling? (I am just joking.) A tank top can be in colors, but I think a wife-beater is always going to be white. The wife-beater is meant to be worn under the shirt (but it isn´t always) and a tank top is meant to be worn without a shirt (but it isn´t always). You will find some women wearing wife-beaters (although I doubt that women call them that), but tank tops are very commonly worn by women. The material of the wife-beater is usually going to thinner. Remember, it is not meant as a principal garment but rather as something to be worn under a nice shirt to protect it from sweat, make the shirt warmer in cold weather, etc. The tank top can be of heavier cloth because it is made to be worn as a principal garment, something in place of a shirt. These are personal observations, and I am sure you will find people who will disagree. |
