But they tell me you have such a sweet and beautiful nose. The maripositas probably mistook it for a flower.
Diaz-Plaja wrote a great book about the cultural differences of Spain. I believe the title was The Spaniard and the Seven Deadly Sins.
Chevy Chase starred in a movie about 15 years ago called "European Vacation". Hilarious, but full of cultural gems. I especially like the part where his family invades the home of an elderly German couple who accept the family with open arms....although they have no idea who the Americans are. (The two groups did not share a common language, and Chevy Chase had gone to the wrong house.) A few weeks ago I was in Masaya, Nicaragua. The visit brought back memories of an incident there in 1969. Three of us were in a bar. I wanted to go to the bathroom. I was given a newspaper and a candle. It took a while for me to understand they did not expect me to read the newspaper. It was for other purposes. The candle? No electricity.
Many years ago (1970?) I found a delightful book entitles The People´s Guide to Mexico. It contains lots of very valuable information about cultural differences. Not only do differences exist between countries, they exist within the same country.
