Assunto:  Anyway / anyways

During one of the meetings we had this week here where I work, one of the american guys was always saying "anyways” when returning to the subject, and not “anyway”…

So my question is: Is there a difference between using that word with or without “s”? I believe I heard once that I should avoid “anyways”…but he was using it constantly… really confusing.
