If you mean character as in a play or movie stick to saying character, because people will understand you better. Personage sounds too old if used in every day conversation. Let's say somebody had a vision and saw a being, then that person could say that he/she saw a personage, however these days people would most likely say they saw a being. For more synonyms check |
