Great to see you can take a joke! Did you hear about the guy in Bahia who was so lazy he married a pregnant woman? I don't think the USA has a counterpart to Bahia jokes. Texan jokes were common years ago. Central to all Texan jokes was the theme that everything in Texas was huge (it was the largest state until Alaska became a state), and everyone was very rich. Typical of Texan jokes was one about a Texan who bought his son a new car. A second Texan said, "But your son is only four years old!" And the first Texan replied, "That's okay. We only let him drive in the living room." When Alaska became a state, lots of Alaska-Texas jokes appeared. An Alaskan was bragging to a Texan about the size and wealth of Alaska. The Alaskan says, "We have so much gold in Alaska that we could build a solid gold wall around Texas three feet wide and seven feet tall!" And the Texan replied, "Go ahead and build it. If we like it, we'll buy it!" |
