   Também significa:    cornered, trapped in a difficult situation, on an impasse, in hot waters, with a hot potato in hands etc.


  Just like one onto a "blind alley" would feel; I mean, in Portuguese there is the non-literal translation (not plain translation), in English "blind alley" can be understood this way too? or is used only to speak about one person getting at an enclosed street where the exit is the same place where one enters?
