Dale, hello there! I really thought I was being helpful in letting Célia know how to use the word round in some sentences. That's because she writes: 'Olá, a palavra round me deixa com muitas dúvidas em várias frases' which implies to me tha she's at a very basic level of English. But then you mention those movie titles which I think just went over head or confused Célia a bit more because in order to disagree you quoted movie titles. I don't think that added to the flow of the conversation. We are dealing with ESL/EFL grammar, an exception like that although interesting wouldn't be asked on a TOEFL exam. I am not complaining here. I do appreciate reading your answers to questions. This is just feedback. Sometimes I feel just smothered on this forum because it seems like we are on a competition to show who has the most knowledge, or sometimes native speakers like give an impression that you are here to proof us wrong and show us that we know jack s.. when it comes to English. I don't know why I even bothered write this stuff here! |
