She was asking about a "melon round". What she got was 17 ways to use "round" in various situations. THAT seems confusing to me. It's a bit like asking what time it is, and having someone explain how to make a clock.
Grammar rules are not chiseled in marble. They are merely observations of how educated people are speaking and writing at a certain point in time. What is acceptable in 2011 was not necessarily acceptable in 1971. Things are rarely always true. There are exceptions to almost everything, and even exceptions have exceptions. Not to mention exceptions is, in my opinion, irresponsible. Of course, there may be exceptions. LOL
