"What about: "It's too early for your saying that." Lincoln, Michael Swan (Practical English Usage, Oxford - 295.5 and 295.6) indicates it is correct. "When there is a noun which has a similar meaning to an -ing form, the noun is usually preferred." (295.6) There is not a good noun substitute for "to say". Therefore, the gerund is acceptable and the possessive can precede it. |
