+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ That happens, because in 1942 Brazil renamed it´s money to Cruzeiro "Brz" and dropped three zeros, then from 1967 onwards the country is presented to the Cruzeiro Novo "NCr$" (once again three zeros are omitted, that is, the value to change one for the other divided by 1000- we used to say "it dropped three zeros"). In the 1970´s comes the Cruzados, three zeros vanish in thin air! then a transitional money is invented, the Cruzado Novo and 1993 it gets a brand new name Cruzeiro Real; and then Real, when more three zeros are left out again.
That is, if we went back to that currencies of old; putting back all the zeros back, today to buy some rolls at the bakery we had to deforest half Amazon rain forest. That is, to make the required quantity of notes! |
